Support and Recovery

Counseling Center

From time to time we all need help coping with the challenges of life. The Counseling Center at Riverchase UMC has been offering confidential, professional counseling services to promote positive growth since 1991. Riverchase's Counseling Center Coordinator, Stephanie Fedor-Joseph, is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) committed to guiding you towards wellness.
Typically, sessions are 50 minutes in length,  though extended sessions are available. Sessions can be scheduled weekly or as needed based on counseling goals. To cover the cost of the program, fees can range from $65 to $95 per session, based on income. Referrals can be made to other resources, if needed.
The Counseling Center offers the following services:
Emotional, behavioral, and spiritual problems facing individuals, couples and families
Compulsive Behaviors
Premarital, Marital and Family Issues
Relationship Concerns (couples, singles and others)
Women's/Men's Issues
Life Transitions
Relaxation Training
Sports Counseling

Alcoholics Anonymous® is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; they are self-supporting through their own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

AA meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 6:30 PM in the Education/Office Building room 111.
