Children's Missions

Riverchase UMC Children's Missions Ministry hopes to teach the concept and importance of missions so that each child learns that they can personally become missionaries right in their own backyard!  We aim to enthusiastically involve children in supporting missionaries and mission work with their prayers, interest, financial giving, and service to others.  Read on for ways that you can assist us in these goals.
 

Mission Baskets


Each month, Children's Missions focuses on a different item and asks that your child bring that item in and put it in the mission baskets located in your child's sunday school classroom.  These items are then taken to Oak Mountain Missions, Christian's Place, My Place and various other children's charities in need.  Older children will be given the opportunity to visit these charities and volunteer their time to help throughout the year.  Take a look at the calendar below to see this month's focus:

 March Toilet Paper
 April Shampoo and Deodorant
 May Canned Vegetables
 June School Supplies
 July New Towels and Wash Cloths
 August Bath Soap and Dishwashing Liquid
 September Children's Toothbrush and Toothpaste
 October New Gloves & Socks (for teenagers)
 November New Toys
